Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:

Esther in a suitcase

Think we should take her with us on our honeymoon?

Had a very productive day yesterday. Went to get the oil changed in my car and since we had nearly 2 hours to kill while they worked on that Matt asked about having a courtesy van take us to the mall. He thought that I might like some new clothes, and who am I to argue? Ended up getting a whole armful of cute tops and a pair of jean shorts. Cheap too, sales rule! Went and looked at a house for sale too. Beautiful place, but wa-aa-aaa-aaaay out in Timbuktu.

Man, I am the master cook! Really, I am. Okay, next time you're tired of the same-ol'-same-ol' have what I'm fixing tonite. Heat up a can of LaChoy chicken chow mein and serve it over a plate of minute rice. Yum yum! Takes about 10 minutes from start to finish and it turns out delicious!

Our government is thinking about imposing a new form of taxation called the transaction tax or user fee. From what I understand the way this tax would work is by taxing any type of bank transaction above $1,000 a very small amount (way less than one percent). The new tax would replace all the existing state, federal, and local taxes that we pay at the present by actually letting the federal government collect more money than all of the taxes we have now combined. One good thing about the proposed tax is that no one would be exempt from it. Those huge corporations that hire lawyers to find loopholes in the tax laws would now be contributing their fair share to the government. At the same time, the average person would see his taxes drop tremendously, Right now, the working person has about 1/3 of his or her paycheck taken out in taxes. If they're making $45,000 a year the state, local and federal governments are getting away with $4000 of it. With the proposed tax only taking $1 out of every thousand spent or earned workers get to keep a lot more of their hard-earned cash. Read this article to explain in new detail how this tax is supposed to work. It also has pros and cons listed in the FAQ section.
