Crazed Ramblings from My Mind:

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

This is the first annual (well, we'll see if it's really annual come next year) Huluhae Christmas Edition. How exciting! Matt and I are celebrating our first Christmas as husband and wife by spending the holiday with his family. I'm excited about the short work week this week, it's only two days! Anyhow, Happy Holidays!

I decided to keep this up for another week. Thanks to Dawn C. for the link. Here's a Christmas card that is sure to put that spark in your eyes.

You'd think that since I try to post this at midnite every Monday I would have enough sense to work on it during the weekend. No such luck I'm afraid. Call it plain old laziness if you will, but it's 8:30 pm on Sunday, and I've just started. This reminds me of when I was in high school and would write entire English papers in the class right before it. I always had an "A" average in English though so I must've been doing something right!

Well, I was just getting ready to be nice and wish a Happy Chanukah to all those who celebrate it, but I just found out that it ended on December 7. For those of you who know practically nothing about it, like me, here's a site with basic information about the "Festival of Lights."

So, what would happen if parents acted like President Bush? A lot of chaos, it seems.

Christmas Quotes!
  1. Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.--Norman Vincent Peale
  2. Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.--former President Calvin Coolidge
  3. I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.--Shirley Temple
  4. At Christmas play and make good cheer, For Christmas comes but once a year.--Thomas Tusser, 16th century
  5. Somehow, not only for Christmas, But all the long year through, The joy that you give to others, Is the joy that comes back to you. And the more you spend in blessing, The poor and lonely and sad, The more of your heart's possessing, Returns to you glad.--John Greenleaf Whittier
  6. Blast this Christmas music! It's joyful and triumphant.--Jim Carrey in How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  7. "Dear Santa Claus, How have you been? Did you have a nice summer? How is your wife? I have been extra good this year, so I have a long list of presents that I want. Please note the size and color of each item, and send as many as possible. If it seems too complicated, make it easy on yourself: just send money. How about tens and twenties?"--Sally Brown's letter to Santa in A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Holiday Ideas for Your Family

There are some really cute holiday ideas on the internet. These are among my favorites.

1. The Winter Waltz.
2. Some warm, tasty Snowman Soup.
3. A yummy recipe for simple Christmas cookies.
4. Remember to feed the birds, especially if there is snow where you live.
5. I'll add one of my own, be sure and give at least one friend or relative whom you're not going to see for the Holidays a call and wish them a very Merry Christmas. I've done this for the past few years and it makes people so happy.
