Crazed Ramblings from My Mind:
Here's a Christmas card that is sure
to put that spark in your eyes. Thanks to Dawn C. for the link.
Speaking of Christmas, our shopping is 99% done for the year. Next year, I plan on finishing my Christmas shopping sometime in
mid-August. You'd think that as much time as I spend near this computer that I'd do my shopping on-line. No such luck though.
That's just something I usually don't think about doing. Occaisonly I'll search through I-Give,
which is an online mall that contributes part of each sale to the charity of your choice. The percentage contributed is the
choice of the individual store. It's a great concept, and I've bought some kitchen gadgets through them, but half the stores
I try to visit aren't available. I like the idea though; this year I've supported the American Lung Association of Virginia
to honor my paternal grandma and maternal grandpa who died of lung related illnesses.

Matt's Rant!
La Huelga in California - I wonder if any illegal aliens skipped picking up their welfare checks or taking advantage of taxpayer sponsered health care.
And for all of you who would demonize me for not loving our cuddly little "undocumented workers", f*ck off. They are a significant reason for California's bankruptcy. They move in then immediately plug into the welfare services of the state. They get free health care, while every tax paying American deals with ever rising debt and health care costs and shrinking pay.
It costs my wife and I $500 per month with a 25 percent copay for health insurance and we're very healthy - why should illegals get free care when my family, who comes from generations of tax payers, has to pay for it?
Immigrants should help our country; make it better. These f*ckers just take and demand more.
Fact! Opinion! Whatever!
Over the years, I've noticed that most people seem to favor the eye for an eye,
tooth for a tooth philosophy of justice. This has been a favored method of punishment for millenia. Just for fun, let's take two similar crimes and compare how they were handled in
their native countries. One is from the
Christian country of Australia,
and the second from the Islamic country of Pakistan. In the first, an
Australian man
beat a seven month old baby to death by punching him so hard his bottom teeth peirced the roof of his mouth. He broke all his
toes, dragged him along the ground. The child choked to death on his own vomit. The
murderer was given an eight year sentence. In the second story, a Pakistani
man who threw acid into his fiancée's face, blinding
and disfiguring her, has been ordered by a judge to be publically blinded by the same type of acid as punishment. Let's see,
in one country the punishment fit the crime, being neither too harsh nor too lenient. In the other, the sentence was laughable.
Ironic, isn't it, that an Islamic country has laws more in accordance with Judeo-Christian beliefs than a Christian
nation?
