Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:
Yeah, like, whatever.

You're an INDIFFERENT AIM-ER. Meh.
Happy 22nd birthday to my best friend in the entire world! I wish I could be
there, Rach. Love ya!
Simpson's has really influenced our life. We were cleaning yesterday, and Matt remembered the episode where Marge puts the
toilet seats in the dishwasher to get them clean for company. He thought to himself, "Hey, what else are we going to do with
this brand new dishwasher with sani-clean?" and stuck them in there. Now they're clean enough to eat off of...not that we did,
mind you.
Thanks to the good people (person?) at Wage Slave for their George W. Bush Scorecard of Evil.
Muahahahaha!
Hey, Jesus cut his hair! What gives? Well, according to some Israeli and British forensic anthropologists and computer
programmers this picture is the most realistic version of the old feller we've ever had. Only took them two thousand three years to
figure out that Jesus was not a long-haired hippie,
white dude who looks like he just stepped out of a generic American mall.
Sometimes I get so angry at the stupidity that has become our school systems that I just want to start whacking the people
involved upside
the head. But its a good thing I never wrote anything like this
while I was in high school, or I may have been faced with
expulsion, too. It is a dark day in our nations history when young teenagers are suspended for writing fictional stories in
their personal journal--which, I'd like to add, the teacher
had no business reading in the first place.
Matt's Rant
Rant About Gun Control
I have no problem with gun owners. I have a problem with criminals and people who assume criminals and gun owners are one and the same.
A gun is a tool; a machine. It does not have a will of its own. Like any other tool, it can be used for good or bad.
For a bad example, someone takes his gun into a liquor store and points it at the shopkeeper demanding his money -- armed robbery.
For a good example, that same shopkeeper takes out his shotgun and shoots the criminal, thereby protecting his shop and ensuring his kids have a daddy coming home.
Another good example, a woman is walking alone at night. A thug jumps out from an alley way with a knife, intent on mugging or worse. The woman points her gun at him and the creep takes off.
Guns are a good tool for self defense; like with most things, training, education, and common sense are key to limiting the danger. My father-in-law has always had guns. He and his wife raised 4 daughters. Number of gun injuries? Zero.
Most hardcore liberals/socialists types will say, "What do you need a gun for? The police will protect you!" Well, think about the shopkeep or the lady in the above example. Do you honestly think the cops will know to respond and be able to respond that quickly? They're only human. I'm sure most cops do their best, but they aren't telepathic and there certainly aren't enough of them in the higher crime areas.
Also, limiting guns may eliminate some gun usage in crimes, but a criminal intent on that crime will find some other way; a knife, a crowbar, his fists, etc. The crime will probably still be committed. Consider the black market - pot is illegal, but how many of you have found a way to buy that? A gun is no different, just need the right contacts and money.
And before anyone asks, no I don't think that the general public necessarily needs access to high-power military grade weaponry, but I might eat my words with the current administration.
Fact! Opinion! Whatever!
I'm taking Intro to Oral Communications in college, which is basically speech class. Brad, who is one of the guys in class,
gave a speech on commerical pet foods and explained that on average our pets should be living about twice as long as they
are. The reason they aren't is because pet food manufacturers put the nastiest, unhealthiest ingredients in their food.
Everything from diseased skin, feathers, and chicken feet to euthenized pets, road kill and restaurant grease. The lack of any
real nutrition in their food is the reason our pets have a tendency to be so sickly as they get older. The low-quality food
is also the reason so many pets use the bathroom so often. The petfood just goes right through them. If you think
about it for a moment, it makes sense that our pets are given only the very worst parts of the slaughtered cows, pigs, etc.
As long as meat is good for human consumption it goes in our food, and our pets get whatever is left. Brad recommended the
book Food Pets Die For which I suggest looking for at your local library because it seems to be currently out of print.
There is also a website that offers free-samples of their premium pet
food made with all-natural, human grade products. You
could even eat it if you wanted! I'm going to order some today (Monday) and try it out with our three cats. If they like it,
I'll post it on here and let everyone know.
