Vote Dennis Kucinich President '04

Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:

I've spent the last couple of weeks working on a speech I have due tuesday October 7 in my oral communications class. So I've decided what the heck, I'm going to give all of you a chance to read my speech for yourselves. The title is A Brief Look at Kucinich and I think it'll be interesting to Kucinich supporters, haters, and people who have no earthly idea who the hell I'm talking about. You people who hate NAFTA will definately like this speech. Enjoy!

My how time flies. It's already been a month since our wedding reception and I am just now getting pictures of that on here. It was thrown by Matt's parents and was a very beautiful affair. His mom did all the planning, and it turned out fabulous. The highlights were getting to meet members of the Kazmar-MacLagan clan I had never seen, a huge cake, and of course, presents! Hey, I'm just a big kid at heart, I love unwrapping presents.**Pictures will be up later today, I ran out of time to get them on here before I went to bed.**

Yes!! I just checked the mail, and have finally got back that $35 rebate I sent off for wa-a-a-y back in January. This isn't the first time a rebate has taken two forevers and a day to get to me. I remember a hat I sent off for back when m&m minis first came on the market, and I didn't get that until two summers later. By that time I had forgotten all about it. Cute ballcap, but it never did fit. I just left it hanging in my closet and it was eventually lost by the neighborhood kids. Or given to Goodwill, I'll be darned if I can remember.

Proud moment alert: I have a 4.0 average right now. Yeah, thanks. Buy me a beer sometime and we'll celebrate, all right?

Brutal Images of the War

What I can't figure out is why so many Americans can sit back and blindly accept President Bush's assertion that we are doing the right thing by invading, conquering, and occupying Iraq. We went to war against an impoverished nation on the outright lie that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. American citizens were led to believe that this tiny nation, described by Capitals.com as slightly more than twice the size of Idaho and half a world away could possibly harm us. After years of sanctions the Iraqis don't even have clean water, much less the technology to take on a superpower. Here is a link to some very graphic and violent pictures of the death and destruction we have laid upon these people. The pictures are not suitable for most children. I strongly advise parents view the pictures before letting their kids see them.

In my opinion, these are a few of the worst. Only view them if you have a strong stomach.
  1. A young boy, around five years of age, literally ripped in half and left lying admist the rubble.
  2. A little girl, soaked in blood, with what is left of her feet hanging by mere shreds.
  3. Another image of a different child who was also blasted into nothingness.
  4. Parents, take a good and careful look. Would you want your child to go through this pain?
  5. Well this kid actually lived. Hey, and take a look at the background. Pretty impoverished, huh? Kind of makes you think that there's no way they could ever attack America, huh? Or maybe Hussein was planning to throw pieces of concrete at us instead of firing up those elusive WMDs.

Matt's Rant!

My Experience with Bush Supporters

My experience with his supporters has been shocking. None of them have any sense of skepticism and take what ever FOXNews says at face value.

I have several favorites:

Abortion: For the record, I am pro-life with some exceptions. Rabid Bush supporters love his pro-life stance, but has he made any changes to the abortion laws? No. Failure there.

Iraq: Most believe Saddam was responsible for 9/11. Even Bush was forced to admit there was no connection. Most think that Saddam was/is a threat to America and that Bush is keeping him in check.

Economy: Believe the tax cuts are helping the middle class, even though their own middle class reality shows otherwise. Believes America is on the path to economic recovery, despite massive job loss and unemployment figures for August.

Small Government: Believe that Bush is shrinking government, despite the creation of massive new agencies. They somehow attribute our growth in government to Clinton.

Deficit: They have faith in the myth of Republican fiscal conservancy. They can't believe that under Clinton, we had a budget surplus.

Health Care/Poverty: Under Bush, we have more poverty and less people covered by health insurance than ever before. But these people still believe the faiy tale of the compassionate conservative, one who cares about his fellow American. This leads to the next point.

Christianity: Bush claims he is a Christian and talks to God. He may be a Christian and may well think he talks to God. I've talked with a few Bush supporters who support him solely because he is a Christian and trust him to do everything right based on his supposed Christianity. Considering the last point about the growing poverty and health insurance costs, what happenned to helping your fellow man?

Amazing stuff. It is incredible to me that people will base their vote and allegiance on a complete fantasy. But I guess its the result of a culture that worships TV and encourages conformity.

Disclaimer: I think Democrats and their zealots have their own issues. But Bush is the devil of the day, so I'm focusing on him. :)

Fact! Opinion! Whatever!

A thought just occurred to me. The reason most people have absolutely no remorse for the bloodshed, heartache, and destruction we have visited upon the Iraqis is because the Iraqis are not Christian. I find it ironic that the religion whose members are supposed to give their all to stop suffering can be the same ones who blindly and willingly accept the death of hundreds of people, many of them young children, just because they are of a different religion. I am not sterotyping all Christians and trying to imply that they have nothing but hatred in their hearts. You know who you are, the one who would cry if a good little Catholic child died, but who can spare no tears for the pain you see above you. I claim no religion, and yet I at least have the decency to care. I honestly wish I could help all of these mangled children. And I wish I could get the rest of you to understand how terrible a thing war actually is. It's not a video game, people. There is death. There is pain. There is blood on our hands.
