Vote Dennis Kucinich President '04

Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:

I have just discovered that our kitchen trashcan has the amazing power to bring burnt-out light bulbs back to full power. I was getting ready to study, and decided to changed the burnt-out bulb in our two bulb bedroom lamp, so I unscrewed it, tossed it in the kitchen garbage and started rumaging around for a new bulb. There weren't any spare bulbs, and since I felt uneasy about having an empty socket I decided to grab the old one out of the trash and screw it back in. Now it works better than ever. Hey, now that I think about it, that would make a great commercial. "Ressurect your old light bulb! With the amazing power of the blue trashcan, even the most burnt-out bulbs can shine brightly time and again! Offer invalid in Utah, void where prohibited. For full contest rules write to an address that you have no chance of ever copying down. Chances of winning An Amazing Light Bulb Resurrecting Blue Trashcan 1 in 99 billion.

The famous doctor, Patch Adams, is endorsing Dennis Kucinich for next November's election. You may recall Dr. Adams as the "free doctor" who has spent the last ...years providing free care to those in need here in America. Please take a moment to listen to this audio postcard with the doctor's endorsement.

Watch for falling people!

Top Reasons I Do Not Support Re-Electing Bush

  1. His famed tax cut only helped the richest one percent of Americans.
  2. Even though thousands of intelligent, highly-trained Americans are out of work, Bush told India that outsourcing will not stop while he is in office.
  3. Also, even though Americans are out of work, he is outsourcing his campaign to Noida and Gurgaon, which are two cities in India.
  4. Speaking of India, he is also vehemently against opposing the H1-b visas that allows companies to import labor at will to avoid paying Americans the higher wages they need to survive. So basically, he is perpetuating the myth that there are no Americans highly trained enough to do this work (yeah, like any but the most easily persuaded of us would believe that), and as a result these companies have no choice but to hire people from foreign countries, most often India.
  5. The lies he told us about the weapons of mass destruction, lies I never believed in the first place, which of course never materialized.
  6. He continues to sign free-trade agreements with countries that have a much lower cost of living than in the United States instead of fair-trade agreements that would help booster our economy.

A Stronger Look at Kucinich Day 2

I'm sure it's glaringly obvious by now that I fully support Kucinich for the 2004 presidential elections. I mentioned a few of the reasons in the list above. I'm going to go into a little more detail here, and hopefully some, or even better, most of you will see my point of view and decide he is the right canidate for you as well.

First, and most importantly of all, he wants to bring jobs back to our communities by cancelling the fiascos that are NAFTA and the WTO and recreate manufacturing jobs here. To me, cancelling NAFTA alone is an excellent reason to elect him. In my hometown of Martinsville/Henry County, Virginia over 9,500 people have lost their jobs because of NAFTA since 1994.
A second reason I support Kucinich is because he wants to revamp our out-dated, practically useless health care system and create one that is like the systems seen in Canada and Europe. This would be a one-payer system where patients will have free choice of what doctors to see, and will not have to rely on insurance companies and HMOs to make their decisions for them. Thousands of physicians agree with implementing a single payer system. Think of it this way, for most of us, every month we pay into insurance companies on the chance that some illness will befall us, or an accident will happen. Yet the chances of something actually happening is pretty slim. I've always been a very healthy person, aside from an occaisonal sniffle or the foot surgery I had back in 1997. Matt has been even healthier. What the plan proposes to do is have every corporation pay 7.7% for medical coverage that would, within ten years, serve everyone in America. This 7.7% is actually less than the 8.5% average that companies already pay for healthcare coverage. Also, he would continue to use government spending that is already earmarked for healthcare.
He is pro-choice, but will work to make abortions less necessary through education and birth control. Most Americans are pro-choice because they realize that no issue is entirely black or white. Even I, who would never consider an abortion, am pro-choice for women who are in definate need of an abortion.
Kucinich is also a self-made man. He is not rich, and was not born into family money like so many other politicians. In fact, he actually grew up in poverty, along with his six younger brothers and sisters. He has gotten to where he is today by understanding the needs of the average American worker, and by actually putting them first. Here are some additional links that I strongly urge you to read. I also ask that you spend the next few months reading all you can about Kucinich and the other democratic canidates so that you'll be able to make an informed decision come election day in November 2004.
