Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:

According to this quiz I just took the genocidal maniac I'm most like is Josef Stalin. I have no idea how they got that answer seeing how I've never let millions of people die of starvation. That I'm aware of, anyhow. Who knows, maybe that's what I was doing when I was sleepwalking that one nite last winter.

Which Genocidal Maniac Are You?

The new MST3K section is turning out great. It's not 100% like I want it but I'm going to go ahead and add it as a link. If any of you are MSTies (and I know at least one of you are) then I think you'll really enjoy it. Be sure and check it often since I'm going be updating it regulary. Heck, being I'm a really nice gal I'll even let y'all know when I update it by posting a little notice on here. Aww, ain't I just the sweetest?

Added some new pictures. Lots of cute pictures of the kittens--of course! Some new ones of me and Matt, and just some that I thought were pretty. Hope you like them!

I don't know how many of you feel the same about the US involvment in the recent war as Matt and I do, but if you are, and you'd like a way to help the people of Iraq here's a great way to do start. For forty dollars you can buy an Iraqi medical kit and give 25 people the medical attention they wouldn't have otherwise. Plus, the Hunger Site will donate 50 cups of food for each medical kit that is bought. Another way you can help is by donating a few dollars to The Campaign of Conscience. The money will be used to will fund the rehabilitation of the Bodeja Water Treatment plant outside the city of Baqooba. Baqooba is a major city in Iraq, and rebuilding the plant will help over 9000 people. Matt and I are going to send a small donation to one or maybe even both causes some time in the near future.

Ah-ha! Ever wonder why some people drive slower than a half-dead 3 toed sloth stuck in cold tar? Well here ya go! All I got to say is "Whooeee! This guy's not very bright."

List of My Favorite Charities:
Promoting Philanthropy Since 1996
  1. I always give to the Salvation Army every year when they dress like Santa and ring bells in front of Wal*Mart.
  2. I like the WWF because they work hard to protect animals, so the upcoming generations can see blue whales or red wolves or any number of creatures first hand.
  3. Matt and I are both members of the local humane society, and I also volunteer there whenever I can.
  4. Anytime I eat at McDonald's I drop whatever spare change I have in the collection bin for the Ronald McDonald House.
  5. The International Essential Tremor Foundation is another great cause that's well worth supporting. ET is a very common, non-terminal, progressively disabling neurlogical disease that affects millions in the United States alone.
  6. Finally, whenever I need to shop on-line I first check to see if the store is a member of I-Give which is a site that hosts nearly 500 stores, including Ebay, Sears, and Barnes and Noble. If you link to a participating store through I-give then a percentage of your total order is donated to the charity of your choice. If the charity you'd like to contribute to isn't on the list then you are welcome to add it. I'm supporting the American Lung Association of Virginia in honor of Russell "Little Papaw" Shropshire, my grandpa on my mom's side, and Geneva "Mamaw Corkey" Coleman, my grandma on my dad's side.

More Bitchin' and Gripin' Courtesy of Yours Truly

I get so tired of being babysat everytime I leave the house to go shopping. I'm talking about some of the annoying laws we're all harrassed with on a daily basis. I had to mail two packages today so I went to the local post office. They won't take any credit card that doesn't have a valid signature on the back. See ID is not acceptable. Well, therein lies the problem. I refuse to sign any of my credit cards. They all do, however, have a large "See ID" written on them. I'm more than happy to hand my drivers liscense along with my card. The way I see it, if the name on my drivers liscense matches the name on my credit card, and my face matches the drivers liscense photo it's a pretty sure bet that it's my card. If the person handling the transaction is still in doubt they can ask me any question they want about the liscense. Hell, I've even got the DL number memorized. Or I'll gladly demonstrate my signature. The reason I don't sign the back of my cards is so, if in the very unlikely event that one of my cards are ever stolen, the person who took them won't be able to copy my signature on the back. I think it's a lot safer, and it makes a lot more sense to give an ID with a credit card that proves I'm who I say I am, than to just hand someone a card that's signed, show no ID and pass the card off as my own. The sad thing is, had I handed him a signed card, he wouldn't have asked for ID. How then, I ask, can he be sure the card isn't stolen and I had just practiced the signature on the back a few times? Plus I spent a total of $12 mailing two packages. I would like to think that if I ever did steal a credit card I would buy a brand new car or jet-ski or something of that nature. I know the post office and other establishments are trying to help guard against fraud but I don't think it's their responsibility. Any person who is old enough to have a credit card is an adult and as such should be able to keep up with his or her card, and if it gets stolen then they should have enough sense to call the emergency number on the card and have the account frozen. If they can't figure that out, then I'm sorry, but companies should stop getting involved.
