Next time your old athletic shoes wear out, instead of chunking them in the garbage, how about donating them to Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program? Nike accepts old athletic shoes of any brand and grinds them up to be used in different types of flooring, such as playground tiles and the padding under hardwood basketball floors. This is a great cause to support that serves to help the environment by recycling and reusing something that would ordinairily just take up space in a landfill and also helps give people world wide places where they can have fun.

Last week, somehow I managed to only spend sixty bucks on the weeks groceries. I have no idea how I did that since I also threw at least $10 worth of impulse grabs in the buggy. Wish me luck to repeat the preformance when I go shopping this week. Hehehe.

I've obsessed the last few days over Snopes, one of the most entertaining websites out there. If you ever get an email and you're not sure if it's true just do a search on Snopes. They tackle everything from razor blades in halloween candy to children being used to smuggle drugs. And it's a huge site too, I've been reading on it whenever I have had some spare time during the past week and I'm still not through with all of it.

Fact! Opinion! Whatever!

This rant is going to be fairly short since I'm linking to two related stories that are fairly long but well worth reading every word. I'm sure most of you have heard of Marc Schultz, the young man who was reading an article that his dad emailed him while waiting in line at a coffee shop. Another person called the FBI on him for simply READING an article. People, we aren't talking about anyone walking into a store and opening fire on everyone there. We aren't even talking about pornographic or morally objectible material. He didn't read out loud, wasn't trying to draw attention to himself. Yet, some idiot took offense to his perfectly legal right to read and called the FBI. And, what's worse, the FBI investigated him. Oh, it's a sad day in America when there are people so paranoid they call the FBI over an article. It's an even sadder day when the FBI takes those types of calls seriously. This link is the article Marc Schultz wrote about his encounter with the FBI. This link is the article he was reading that got him into so much trouble. I read both articles, and believe me, there is nothing in the second that would even come close to warranting a visit from the friendly local police, much less a government agency. If anyone has an opinion on this matter I'd love to hear it. Send me an email using the address at the bottom of the screen. Be sure to put "Marc" in the subject line so I'll know you read this rant.
