Crazed Ramblings from my Mind:

Isn't it amazing how little it takes to bring back old memories? Often just a familiar site or smell can trigger thoughts of people or past events, even if I haven't thought of either in years. Every time I see a green Ford Mustang I remember an old friend of mine named Chris. He was a year older than me, and we ran on the same volunteer rescue squad back home in Virginia. He was a really great, very nice guy. I'm not exaggerating when I say that everyone liked him. Sadly, he died in his sleep when he was just 21. I will forever associate Green Mustangs and green lifesaver candies with him though. Colored sprinkles remind me of Mamaw Corky, my dad's mom. She passed away last summer at about the same time as my birthday. When I was a kid she would pour sprinkles out on the counter and I'd wet my finger and lick them all. I remember how much fun that little game was and how happy I was to be there, just sitting at the counter and licking sprinkles. Whenever I see a certain type of candy I am reminded of my mom's dad, Little Papaw. He had the most massive sweet tooth of any person I have ever met in my life, and that includes myself. He was especially fond of these little chocolate drop type candies. I can't think of what they're called but if I saw a bag I'd recognize it. He died of lung cancer quite a few years ago. Papaw had smoked for 60 some years and one day, out of the blue, just decided to quit. He went to the doctor and we were all amazed to know his lungs were cancer free. A year later however we got the bad news, and there wasn't much to do. He was put on chemotherapy, but unfortunately not much was expected. I'm reminded of other people too, of course. Some people, like my parents or sisters I think of often. Other people I only remember when I see or think about a particular item. I've heard an old saying about immortality is living on in the minds of others, and I have to say I agree.

Bought my first ever computer game at Best Buy the other day. Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe. I'm supposed to build a theme park and try to convince imaginary customers to play in it. What fun! Kind of like make-believe for adults. I'm not any good at it yet. In fact, I haven't even built a single roller coaster. Right now I'm still stuck trying to create the merry-go-round and haunted house. I thought I was getting a Sims game, which is something I've wanted for years. Matt got a new game too. Something that has to do with bloodshed. Not sure exactly what it's called. I'm sure it's fun though. He's a huge fan of Grand Theft Auto 3 and mowing down the innocent pedistrians on the game. My favorite video games are usually the ones that I can kill off the main character over and over again. Such fun! I wonder if our future kids will be this violent. Yeah, probably.

This sounds weird but mix a teaspoon of baking soda in with your shampoo next time you shower. The end result is squeaky clean hair.

Oops! Matt accidently erased my guestbook entries. So, if you've already signed, or even if you haven't, please sign my guest book (again). Thank-ya Sparky. Oh yeah, just for fun, try to find the two hidden surprises he left for me somewhere on that page. They're pretty funny. Let me know if you see anything.
